We were visiting Mirfield this week, and when our JRT collapsed, we looked for local assistance. We chose this practice, and David and the team came up trumps. They fitted us in at the end of a busy surgery, conducted a thorough examination and gave us a clear outline of possibilities and options. We were further impressed by a phone call later that day outlining our test results, and by their liaison with our normal vets. Great consideration for our JRTs welfare was evident throughout. You hope that such help will be there when you're in difficulty - and we clearly made the right choice in coming here!

I have over many years had a number of my dogs and most recently my cat referred to David Habin and indeed insist on it .This vet is without a doubt an amazing man , he has my complete respect and trust and has without fail treated my fourlegged family members with care skill and knowledge and calmed a very worried and at times panicked mum. His team are a credit to Calder vets and although I havnt dealt with Simon except for some checkups ,he clearly is also on the ball. I would recommend these guys in a heartbeat. Thankyou very very much

Simon Hitchen and his team were so caring, supportive and professional when Sonny had to have his eye removed. 2 days later my boy was running about looking to fetch his tennis ball again !! Would highly recommend them...

Our Border Terrier, Buster seriously injured an eye before Christmas 2013 and failed to respond to any treatment so we asked to be referred to an Opthalmology practice and then dealt with Calder Vets at Mirfield. It is a 192 mile round trip for us and we had to make several trips while Simon Hitchen, the Vet tried everything to preserve Busters eye. Unfortunately the damage to Busters eye was so severe that there was no prospect of success and we had to take the heartbreaking decision to remove the eye. Over the time we were dealing with them all the staff and Simon were excellent and very caring, Simon rang us twice during the week to see how Buster was. Buster experienced a lot of pain in the first couple of days and I rang for advice and was treated very supportively with good advice and reassurance. The staff were also very helpful with the insurance claim and Simon ensured that the largest claim for the operation was direct claimed to save us having to pay and claim back.I would recommend this practice to anyone and if we were ever in this position again I would go straight back to Calder Vets regardless of the distance.
